During the CareerFoundry Data Analytics Program, you’ll build out a job-ready project for your portfolio. Here is Bridget’s project, Rockbuster, where she conducted analysis for a movie rental company transitioning from in-store sales to an online rental platform.

What inspired you to make a career change into this field?

I found a deep interest in data analysis and its power to impact strategic decisions. As a data analyst, I’m excited to combine this passion with my problem-solving skills from the hospitality industry to generate valuable business insights.

What did you enjoy most about the CareerFoundry Data Analytics Program?

The Data Analytics Program at Career Foundry was incredibly comprehensive. It gave me a solid foundation in Python and SQL, and taught me to use data visualization tools effectively. I appreciate how the program emphasizes real-world application of skills, providing a strong foundation for my data analysis career. 

What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio project?

I honed my skills in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization, and learned valuable insights about putting together complex projects. Creating my portfolio allowed me to put these skills into practice and identify key growth opportunities in a real-world business scenario.

With regards to your new career and skills, what are your hopes for the future?

As I advance in my career, my goal is to secure roles in data analysis and business intelligence, ultimately leading to a position as a Marketing Insights Director in the food & beverage industry. I’m excited to apply my Python, SQL, and data visualization skills in a role that derives actionable insights, guides strategic decisions, and fosters business growth.

Introducing her Rockbuster project, Bridget said:

Acting as a data analyst hired by the company’s business intelligence department, the task was to load all of Rockbuster’s data into a relational database management system and use SQL to analyze the data to answer any ad-hoc business questions that other departments may have. The results of the analysis were then compiled into an easily digestible format to be presented to the Rockbuster Stealth Management Board.
