Lívia Brito's Portfolio Project
During the CareerFoundry UI Design Program, you’ll build out a job-ready portfolio. Here is a breakdown of graduate Lívia’s portfolio project, Produ. If you’d like to visit her full portfolio, head to her website.
What inspired you to make a career change into this field?
I was working as a graphic designer and wasn’t really happy with the company and the position I was working in at the time. I started looking for jobs and realized that there were many opportunities for UX/UI designers. This was the main trigger to get me interested. I started to read more about it, got very enchanted by all the possibilities, and decided to migrate.
What did you enjoy most about the CareerFoundry UI Design Program?
Undoubtedly the quality of the content, but mainly the format of the course: all tasks are written, which makes it much easier to consult later. To this day I use the platform to search for theory and answer questions—it serves as a super helpful glossary. Also, the support from my tutor, mentor, the Slack community, and the student advisors! Everyone is always available to help.
What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio project?
I think what I enjoyed most about the process was witnessing a new skill growing “out of nothing.” It was awesome to see my evolution throughout the course, from the first project to the last. Each achievement brought me new skills and different knowledge, it was super satisfying.
With regards to your new career and skills, what are your hopes for the future?
With my new skills, I hope to cultivate the ability to always feel prepared to solve the problems and challenges present in people’s daily lives. I also hope to continue enjoying the process and continue to see the evolution in my projects throughout my career.
