This report includes a comprehensive analysis of the progress on CareerFoundry&#8217;s DEI initiatives and outlines our strategy to continue creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees and students.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At CareerFoundry, we\u2019re on a mission to enable anyone\u2014regardless of background\u2014to build a career that allows them to work on their own terms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We know that the field of tech is generally not representative of the diversity in our society and that this lack of diversity reflects a discrepancy of opportunity and access across historically marginalized populations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a global learning platform offering online career-changing courses in tech, we know we are uniquely positioned to level the playing field by helping people around the world transition into careers they may not otherwise have access to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As such, we believe we have a responsibility to be an agent of change. In order to build a world where everyone has access to equal opportunities, we need to start with ourselves first. That\u2019s why we\u2019re making a long-term commitment to DEI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/careerfoundry.inbearbeitung.de\/public\/reports\/Diversity+Report+2023+29-Mar-2023-173319.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2023 DEI Report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provides a thorough breakdown of CareerFoundry\u2019s student and staff demographics. Since our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/careerfoundry.inbearbeitung.de\/public\/reports\/careerfoundry-diversity-and-inclusion-report-2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2019 Diversity Report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we\u2019ve grown from 40 to 120 employees, from 100 to over 700 instructors, and to over 3000 active students worldwide. Here is a summary of the main pillars of our DEI Strategy:<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h4>Employee representation<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While we\u2019re proud of our current diversity, we believe that in order to best meet the needs of our student body, we must start by representing our student diversity internally. Otherwise, communities who are underrepresented in the industry may be underserved by the products we design and the services we provide. That\u2019s why one of our 2023 goals is to increase employee diversity to better mirror our students\u2014with special focus toward ethnic diversity and increased gender diversity in S.T.E.M. roles.\u00a0<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h4>Employee retention<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recognize that while a group may be diverse, that does not make it equitable or inclusive. That\u2019s why a core part of our goal in 2023 is to increase not only employee diversity, but also retention. To achieve this, we\u2019re offering more robust leadership development training, mentorship programs, and workplace flexibility initiatives; such as reduced working hours, remote work, and sabbatical programs.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h4>Reducing entry barriers for underrepresented groups<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To continue moving the goalposts of equality within tech, we will offer new scholarships to groups continuously underrepresented in the industry. These scholarships will be accompanied by regular live and interactive DEI events spotlighting people in tech from underrepresented communities. Our hope is to create an open space for dialogue, representation, and networking to help inspire and motivate those who rarely see themselves in tech.\u00a0<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h4>Improving student support and accessibility<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re striving for greater user accessibility in our courses by expanding student advising efforts to provide more personalized support. We are also increasing the amount of media (such as videos and audio) in our curriculum<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to better accommodate and support students with learning disabilities.
