Ranked as the 8th best job in tech<\/a> (with similar role software engineer<\/a> at #1), web development is known for being well-paid, mentally stimulating and, in light of rapid market growth, a pretty safe bet in terms of career choice.<\/p>\n

The US Bureau of Labour Statistics<\/a> predicts around 16% employment growth for web developers by 2032, 10% more than average<\/strong>. It’s no surprise then that web development qualifications are becoming increasingly sought-after.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no question that this is a highly attractive career choice\u2014but how do you break into such an enticing industry?<\/p>\n

    1. Who can become a web developer?<\/h2>\n

    Anyone can become a web developer. You don\u2019t need to be a tech wizard or possess a never-ending list of formal qualifications; as long as you\u2019re passionate about the field and willing to learn, a career in web development is well within your reach.<\/p>\n

    Don\u2019t believe me? Just take a look at CareerFoundry web development graduate Gabriel<\/a>.     There\u2019s no magic formula that will make you a successful web developer\u2014<\/em>as we\u2019ve seen, anyone can learn to code<\/a>!<\/p>\n

    However, if you\u2019re a keen problem-solver with a knack for building things and getting them working, you\u2019ll probably find yourself quite at home in the web development industry. There are a whole range of questions you can ask yourself to see if you’re a good fit for a web development career<\/a>, but if you enjoy puzzles, riddles or logical tests, it\u2019s likely that you\u2019ll also enjoy programming.<\/p>\n

    Another tell-tale sign is patience and perseverance. As a web developer, you\u2019ll spend most of your time dealing with stuff that\u2019s not working and trying to find ways to fix it. As Sam, our Head of Web Development, explains:<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s important to note that a career in web development is not just about sitting behind a screen and hacking away at code. You\u2019ll also need to be an excellent communicator, especially if you\u2019re working in an in-house role.
