UX DESIGN OVERVIEW

You'll begin examining products with the critical eye of a UX designer, diving into why some products are more hands-on than others. You'll also kick-start the project for your portfolio by researching other apps.

USER PERSONAS

As part of your UX portfolio, you’ll create 3 user personas based on real demographics and an elevator pitch targeting the users’ needs.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

To successfully illustrate your product, you’ll create a visually appealing and portfolio-ready digital site map for a client.

PAPER PROTOTYPES

To exercise your creative and technical skills, you’ll learn how to sketch and refine wireframes with a consistent and user-friendly layout.

WIREFRAMES

With user flow in mind, you’ll create and enhance digital wireframes and incorporate them in an impressive presentation for a potential client.

USER TESTING

In a short and professional presentation, you will share the test data you collected and compare the goal or hypothesis with your results.

VISUAL DESIGN

Using your completed wireframe, you’ll design every page of a web app and create the user interface.

A/B TESTING AND ANALYTICS

By analysing the test results and user feedback you’ve gathered, you’ll review your design and discuss your findings with your mentor.

PRODUCTION READY PRODUCT

To summarize your final portfolio, you’ll prepare a short document detailing the design process as well as major milestones of building the app.

The Job Preparation Course is an elective, task-based module designed to prepare you for your first foray into the job market of your new industry. You’ll have a dedicated Career Specialist to help you polish your job application package, and the support of our Career and Placement Services team to help you land your first interviews in the field.

What requirements do I need to fulfill to take the course?

  • You’ll need to be a resident within Germany and eligible for a Bildungsgutschein.
  • You’ll need an internet connection and a computer.
  • You’ll need to be able to speak and write English at a level of B2 or above.
  • You’ll need to be able to work on the course for 3 months full-time.
  • You’ll need to be able to apply yourself to the course and work collaboratively with your mentor, tutor, career specialist and student advisor.
  • You don’t need to have previous experience in design.
