Why these groups
It’s well documented that BIPOC employees are vastly underrepresented in the tech industry. For example, a report by Diversity in Tech U.K. reports that only 15% of the tech workforce in the U.K. are from B.A.M.E. (Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic) backgrounds. Another report from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission shows that workers in tech careers in the U.S. are 68% White, 20% Asian American, 5% Black, and 5% Hispanic.
Furthermore, according to the UN report from 2022, women make up just 3% of global tech students. Research from UNESCO shows women only make up 28% of the global tech workforce.
Non-binary and LGBTQIA+ students also remain underrepresented. One report by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) found that 29% of LGBTQIA+ young people chose to avoid a career in S.T.E.M. due to fears that they would be discriminated against in the industry.

What our alumni say about us
"The program advisors offered me some valuable advice. They told me I should be a UX designer based on what I was passionate about: which I realized was working with people, and solving people problems."
"Something that I really liked about CareerFoundry is that the program advisors let you know if your profile fits a particular career path. I asked them so many questions and it was very reassuring."
"I had some good advice from the team at CareerFoundry before I joined. Switching careers at 30 can be overwhelming so I wanted to make sure everything made sense for me before signing up."
"Kevin, the program advisor I spoke to, was so good. He listened to everything I was saying, he wasn’t trying to sell me something or pressure me, he was actually trying to figure out if this is really what I should do."
"One of the biggest things that appealed to me about CareerFoundry was that it boasted successful career change, and it was accessible for those who weren’t necessarily in the tech field yet."
"The whole process has completely changed my life. I went from feeling stuck and without any perspective, to finding a job in a really amazing team working in an international environment!"
Loved and trusted. Many years and counting.
