Build the foundations of your responsive site, and get introduced to display and positioning properties. Use the box model and border boxes to adjust padding, margins, width and borders.

Styling Fonts & Colors

Add and style fonts to ensure browsers can properly load and render them. Start adding color to your site to bring it to life.

Introduction to Navigation

Create fixed header navigation, style and position it, and style the navigation links using text decoration and hover effects.

Bootstrap Components & Plug-ins

Learn how to use the Bootstrap framework, components and plugins, applying and customizing it to create dynamic elements.

Advanced Images

Add hero images to your site and crop and resize them with imaging software. Implement a Bootstrap carousel.

Responsive Web Design

Use Bootstrap's grid system to create a responsive layout for desktop and mobile screens. Discover the differences between responsive and adaptive design.

Single Page Scrolling Navigation

Transform website navigation to create one long scrolling page with multiple sections. Add a parallax effect with CSS and jQuery.

Responsive Website

Using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, you’ll have built a responsive, single-page portfolio website that fits mobile and desktop screens. Now it's time to send it live!

1.    Who is the course for?

Our courses have been designed to be easily understood by anyone—complete beginners included! Whether you want to start a career as a web developer or just want to enhance your coding skills, this course provides a beginner-friendly starting point.

2.    What will I have by the end of the course?

By the end of Intro to Frontend Development, you will have a solid understanding of frontend languages, key skills for the job, including practical knowledge of common tools, and a project you can add to your professional portfolio.

3.    How long will it take?

Intro to Frontend Development will take one month to complete if you study for 15-20 hours per week. If you need it, we do allow a 1-month extension, including mentor time, at no extra cost. If you wish to complete the course in under one month, you may do so simply by increasing the number of hours you put in.

4.    What do I need to get started?

All you’ll need to bring to the table is a computer, an Internet connection, and a healthy dose of enthusiasm—we provide the rest!

5.    Is the course content practical?

Yes. The course is based on a practical, project-based learning format. You will learn the essential skills that align with what employers are looking for in a frontend web developer.

6.    Does my background or age matter?

From dancers to Uber drivers, we have trained people from all walks of life into successful tech professionals. The course requires no previous experience, and there are no age restrictions.

7.    How does the course differ from other online frontend development courses?

While there are many online courses in frontend web development, the CareerFoundry course is unique in the support it offers. You'll have a dedicated support network which remains consistent throughout—including a tutor to review your daily coursework and answer any questions, and a one-to-one mentor who'll provide personalised feedback and advice. 8.    Do I get a certificate at the end?

You will receive a CareerFoundry certificate on completion of your course.

9.    Is the course 100% online?

Yes, the course is entirely online. You’ll get access to our active student community on Slack and, after the course, you’ll have access to  a global network of other ambitious alumni and mentors to support you.

10.    What does ZFU-approved mean?

The ZFU, or Staatliche Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht, is the state body for distance learning in Germany. In order to offer our Intro to Frontend Development Course publicly, it must undergo a rigorous quality assurance and certification process. On successful completion of this process, the program is assigned a unique approval number (7388521) which can be checked against a public register.
