Why choose the CareerFoundry Full-Stack Web Development Program?

Human-centric learning: the crucial difference between going through the motions vs. succeeding at a web development bootcamp.

Our curriculum team continually optimizes the courses based on student feedback and in-depth research. This approach, together with our Dual Mentorship Model, ensures a highly personalized learning experience—tailored to your specific career goals.

Human-centric learning

Mentors and tutors

Our aim is to become the most student-centric educational company on the planet. To achieve this, we strive to innovate within the field of edtech while remaining hyper-responsive to your feedback.

The way we approach mentorship is a perfect example of this. When we started out back in 2014, our mentorship model was very similar to that of other online bootcamps and academies — 1 mentor to 1 student. We quickly realised, however, that this simply wasn’t enough.

Our students needed a mixture of quick, regular feedback on their smaller exercise submissions and more detailed, in-depth feedback on their significant portfolio pieces. To accommodate our students’ needs, we split the role into two: the mentor and the tutor.

So what’s the difference?

A mentor is a senior web developer with with extensive, industry-shaping experience. Your mentor will conduct a video review of each portfolio piece you submit. Portfolio pieces go towards your professional web development portfolio, so this feedback is invaluable.

A tutor is a course expert who is there to answer your questions on a day-to-day basis, and provide actionable feedback on your tasks within 24 hours.

This dual approach transformed our students’ results, and we haven’t looked back since.

Mentor Advisory Board

Our mentors receive comprehensive onboarding and coaching on how to mentor. Students are also encouraged to give regular feedback on their mentors and tutors throughout the program. Curriculum

Our Full-Stack Web Development Program was created following extensive research into the job market and an in-depth survey of industry professionals. The program is structured around the key skills you will need to succeed as a web developer.

Rather than relying on third-party content, our curriculum is created exclusively in-house. We have a dedicated team of instructional designers and editors working in collaboration with leading web developers who have experience from tech giants like Apple and Hewlett-Packard. Finally, the program is structured by instructional designers from Harvard and Berkeley (also part of our in-house team) to ensure the best possible learning experience.

The program is constantly updated to ensure it teaches the most relevant skills that employers are looking for.

Flexibility with accountability

Pacing

We designed the program to be flexible and accommodate different schedules. It typically takes students 5.3 months at a pace of 40 hours per week. The program is entirely online and there are no fixed times when you have to be present, so you can plan the time you dedicate to studying around other commitments—whether that be looking after your kids, going to your day job, or catching up with friends and family.

Support

With your four-person team supporting you and our active web developer community of fellow students and graduates, you’ll never feel alone or stuck. Your mentor, tutor, and student advisor will encourage you to submit exercises consistently so that you stay on track and celebrate every step you take towards becoming a web developer.
